Description
A 48" Southbend Ultimate range with 4 star/sauté burners and a 24" charbroiler on the left, over a convection oven and a cabinet base.
The Southbend 4483AC-2CL is built for restaurants, diners and commissaries. The top has 4 open burners (4 star/sauté at 33,000 BTU each on natural gas); a 24" charbroiler on the left (64,000 BTU). Below is a convection oven and a cabinet base. Natural-gas input totals 228,000 BTU. It needs one 3/4" gas connection and a standard 115V outlet for the convection oven, and Southbend recommends installing it under a vented hood.

Questions buyers ask
What is the cabinet section?
One base section is a stainless steel cabinet for storage instead of a second oven. Southbend ships cabinets without doors; doors are a no-charge factory option, so ask us when you order.
Natural gas or propane?
Southbend sets the range for one gas at the factory, and the serial plate shows which. Tell us your gas type when ordering. The natural gas total is 228,000 BTU; propane ratings per burner and oven are in the spec table.
What gas hookup does it need?
One 3/4" female NPT connection at the rear, on the right side. Minimum inlet pressure is 7" W.C. for natural gas and 11" W.C. for propane. A flexible hose must be at least 3/4" inside diameter and meet ANSI Z21.69; use a restraining device if the range is on casters.
Does it need electricity?
Yes, for the convection oven fan: 115V/60/1 through a 6' cord with a 3-prong plug, 5.9 amps maximum per convection oven. A 208V/60/1 hard-wired option is available from the factory.
How close can it go to a wall?
Because of the charbroiler, Southbend allows installation in noncombustible locations only, with 10" rear and 0" side clearance to noncombustible construction. Install it under a vented hood and check local fire and gas codes.
Will it fit through my door?
The range is 48.63" wide and 42.13" deep; the flue riser and shelf ship removed and are reinstalled on site. It ships in a 69" W x 48" D x 74" H crate. Measure every doorway and turn on the delivery path first.
Can I use large stock pots?
The rear grates hold up to a 14" stock pot. Southbend asks that pots 12" or wider stay on the rear burners and never hang over the front rail, which can trap heat and damage the controls.
What does the warranty cover?
Southbend covers defects in parts and labor for 1 year from purchase, serviced by a Southbend Authorized Service Agency. Spark igniters, seals and similar wear parts are limited to 90 days, and damage from improper installation or misuse is not covered.
