Questions buyers ask
Does it have an oven?
No. The C in the model number means a stainless steel cabinet base for storage. At this width Southbend offers the top on a cabinet base or as a modular unit.
Natural gas or propane?
Southbend sets the range for one gas at the factory, so tell us your gas type when ordering. Natural gas: 70,000 BTU in total; propane: 70,000 BTU.
Do I need a pressure regulator?
Yes. All Platinum sectional units need a regulated gas supply, and Southbend's spec sheet says the pressure regulator must be ordered separately. Ask us to add it to your order.
What gas hookup does it need?
A 1" rear gas connection with a male NPT connector, or the 1-1/4" front manifold when it is coupled to other sections. Minimum supply pressure is 7" W.C. for natural gas and 11" W.C. for propane.
Does it need electricity?
No electrical service is listed for the P12C-B.
How close can it go to a wall?
10" sides and 6" rear from combustible construction, 0" from noncombustible. Southbend recommends installing it under a vented hood.
What is the step-up version?
The P12C-B-SU raises the rear burners 4" above the front burners. The P12C-B has all burners at the same height.
Can I use large stock pots?
Southbend asks that cookware 12" or wider stay on the rear burners and never hang over the front rail, which can trap heat and damage the components there.
