Description
A 16" uniform hot top and a 16" thermostatic griddle over a 45,000 BTU standard oven, 32" wide.
The Southbend Platinum P32D-HT is a 32" heavy-duty sectional range for restaurants, hotels and institutional kitchens that build a custom cooking line. The top has a 16" uniform hot top and a 16" thermostatic griddle; the position of each section (left or right) is specified when ordering. Below is a 45,000 BTU standard oven that takes sheet pans either way. Natural-gas input totals 125,000 BTU. It connects with a 1" rear gas connection or couples to neighboring sections through its 1-1/4" front manifold, and needs an external pressure regulator.

Questions buyers ask
Will sheet pans fit in the oven?
Yes. The standard oven interior is 26" wide, 26-1/2" deep and 14" high, so full-size sheet pans fit either way. It comes with 2 racks and has five rack positions.
Natural gas or propane?
Southbend sets the range for one gas at the factory, so tell us your gas type when ordering. Natural gas: 125,000 BTU in total; propane: 117,000 BTU.
Do I need a pressure regulator?
Yes. All Platinum sectional units need a regulated gas supply, and Southbend's spec sheet says the pressure regulator must be ordered separately. Ask us to add it to your order.
What gas hookup does it need?
A 1" rear gas connection with a male NPT connector, or the 1-1/4" front manifold when it is coupled to other sections. Minimum supply pressure is 7" W.C. for natural gas and 11" W.C. for propane.
Does it need electricity?
Not with the standard standing-pilot oven. Southbend lists 120V or 208/240V single-phase power only for ovens ordered with optional electronic ignition.
How close can it go to a wall?
From combustible construction, griddle and hot-top sections: 10" sides and 12" rear (keep the larger value on each side); 0" to noncombustible construction. Southbend recommends installing it under a vented hood.
Manual or thermostatic griddle?
A G in the model number means manual controls that set the flame, not a temperature. A T means thermostatic control from 180°F to 400°F. This model has thermostatic control.
What does the warranty cover?
Southbend covers defects in parts and labor for 1 year from purchase, serviced by a Southbend Authorized Service Agency, and no longer than 18 months from the factory. Spark igniters, seals and similar wear parts are limited to 90 days, and damage from improper installation, ventilation or misuse is not covered.
