Description
A 60" gas range with six open burners, a 24" griddle and two full-size ovens on one line.
The Southbend S-Series S60DD-2GR is built for restaurants, diners and cafeterias that need burners, a griddle and oven space in one 60-3/4" footprint. Six cast iron non-clog burners (28,000 BTU each on natural gas) sit on the left, a 24" manual griddle with a 1/2" polished steel plate on the right, and two 35,000 BTU standard ovens below take full-size sheet pans. It needs one 3/4" gas connection and a vented hood; no electrical hookup is listed for this model.

Six non-clog burners

Questions buyers ask
Natural gas or propane?
Southbend builds the range for one gas at the factory, so tell us your gas type when ordering. Ratings: 286,000 BTU on natural gas, 262,000 BTU on propane. The griddle and ovens are rated the same on both gases.
What gas hookup does it need?
One 3/4" male connection at the rear. Because the griddle is on the right, the connection is on the left side. Minimum inlet pressure is 7" W.C. for natural gas and 11" W.C. for propane, and a pressure regulator is installed at the factory.
Does it need electricity?
Southbend lists electrical service only for convection-oven versions of this range. The S60DD-2GR has two standard ovens, and its spec sheet lists no electrical connection.
Is the griddle thermostatic?
No. The G in 2GR means a manual griddle, controlled by knobs. A thermostatic griddle is a different model (S60DD-2TR).
Will sheet pans fit in the ovens?
Each standard oven is 26" wide, 26.5" deep and 14" high, with 2-position rack guides and one removable rack. The oven door opening is 15.5" high.
How close can it go to a wall?
Allow 10" at the sides and rear from combustible construction; 0" is allowed to noncombustible construction. Install it under a vented hood and check local fire and gas codes.
Will it fit through my door?
The range is 60.75" wide and 34" deep without the crate, and it ships in a 67" x 45.5" x 75" crate. Measure every doorway and turn on the delivery path first.
Can it go on any floor?
Southbend says to contact the factory before installing on a floor other than quarry tile, cement or natural stone, because damage from improper installation is not covered. Ask us and we will check the options with Southbend.
What does the warranty cover?
Southbend covers defects in parts and labor for 1 year from purchase, serviced by a Southbend Authorized Service Agency, and no longer than 18 months from the factory. Spark igniters, seals and similar wear parts are limited to 90 days, and damage from improper installation, ventilation or misuse is not covered.
