A cold shelf that mounts under a granite, quartz or approved solid countertop, so the counter itself becomes a seamless chilled surface over 24" x 15.5".
The Hatco CSUP-24-F is a self-contained undermount cold shelf with an anodized aluminum surface that bolts against the underside of the countertop. Cooling passes through the counter to the top side, so there is no visible shelf edge. An attached 1/5 HP condensing unit runs on R-290 refrigerant, and it plugs into a 120V outlet with a NEMA 5-15P plug. Thermal mastic caulk and a single-use applicator are included.
Check that the countertop and its supports can carry the shelf weight before mounting: Hatco says to add bracing if needed.
An attached 1/5 HP condensing unit uses R-290 refrigerant, 2.9 oz. factory fill. Hatco states R-290 absorbs heat 90% better than other refrigerants for faster recovery and lower energy use.
A patented thermal break cuts condensation and cold transfer onto the countertop around the shelf.
The anodized aluminum plate mounts against the underside of the countertop and chills through it, so the serving line shows only the counter surface.
An electronic temperature control box with on/off switch comes on a 4 ft. lead wire, so it can mount on the cabinet front away from the shelf. Hatco presets it to 25°F and auto-defrost can be set on site.
On this size the condensing unit is center aligned under the shelf; Hatco does not offer the left-aligned position.
Not in a solid granite or quartz top up to 1-3/16" thick: it mounts to the underside. A 15.875" x 24.375" cutout is needed only through plywood or other layers under the top.
A grounded 120V, 60 Hz outlet for the NEMA 5-15P plug on the 6 ft. cord. It draws 5.2 amps and 345 watts.
No. It holds food and drinks that are already chilled. Hatco presets it to 25°F; let it run about 60 minutes before you load pans of pre-chilled food.
Yes, with ventilation. Hatco calls for 12" x 12" louvered or grill openings and intake ducting, at least 7" around the condensing unit, and cabinet air no warmer than 86°F. Do not store anything in that cabinet.
At order time only: an additional 4-year parts-only compressor warranty.
Hatco's manual refers to a standard one year warranty, with 24/7 parts and service help in the US and Canada. An extra 4-year parts-only compressor warranty can be bought with the unit.
