Hatco GRH-72 Glo-Ray Stainless Steel High Watt Infrared Strip Heater, 72" W, 1725W, 120, 208 or 240V
Description
A 72-inch stainless steel high watt strip heater that holds plated food and pass-through orders at serving temperature.
The Hatco GRH-72 is the high watt model of the Glo-Ray Infrared Stainless Steel Strip Heater: 1725 watts from a tubular metal-sheathed element in a 72" W x 6" D x 2.75" H stainless housing. Its pre-focused heat pattern covers the entire holding surface with no cold spots. It is built for one voltage, 120, 208 or 240V single phase, set at order, and comes with four stainless steel mounting tabs, a toggle switch on the chef's left and 3 ft. of conduit with leads.

Hatco units are voltage-specific. Order the voltage that matches your circuit and check the specification label before wiring.
Pre-focused heat
The Glo-Ray reflector directs heat from a tubular element across the entire holding surface, so food holds at serving temperature with no cold spots.
1725-watt high output
High watt models put out more heat than the standard GR-72 for higher mounting, 11" to 14" above the food.
Stainless steel housing
The stainless housing has heavy-duty insulation to minimize heat loss. The reflector does not blacken, keeping the heat pattern consistent.
Wire guard
A reinforced wire guard protects operators without affecting heat distribution.
Ready to mount
Factory assembled with four stainless steel shelf mounting tabs. Tubular, C-leg and T-leg stands, chain kits and adjustable angle brackets are available.
Delivery and setup
- Inspect the carton for damage before you sign, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
- A qualified electrician should connect the leads to a grounded single-phase circuit that matches the specification label.
- If you order remote switches or a remote control enclosure, mount the box outside the heat zone, or damage will occur.
- Keep at least 3" between two or more heaters to prevent heat damage to components.
- Manufacturing oils may smoke for up to 30 minutes at first startup. Run the heater without food until the smoke clears.
- Clean daily once the unit is off and cool: wipe metal surfaces with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry them. Do not use jet spray, steam or excess water.
Questions buyers ask
What voltage and amperage does it need?
It runs on single-phase 120, 208 or 240V, set when you order. At 1725 watts it draws 120V 14.4 A, 208V 8.3 A or 240V 7.2 A.
Can it plug into an outlet?
On 120V units, Hatco offers a 6 ft. cord with NEMA 5-15P when the heater is mounted on C-leg or T-leg stands or a chain kit. Otherwise it is hardwired through 3 ft. of conduit. Hatco notes the 72" high watt model needs a NEMA 5-20P cord in Canada.
Does it come with a switch?
Yes. A toggle switch, max. 15 amps, is standard on the chef's left. A built-in infinite control (max. 12.2 amps) or remote toggle or infinite switches can be ordered at time of purchase. Infinite control is not available on the 120V model.
How high should it be mounted?
Hatco recommends 11" to 14" above the food for high watt models. Near combustibles keep 13.5" to the surface below, 3" to the back wall and 1" below an overshelf.
Is it NSF listed?
The Hatco spec sheet for the GR and GRH series shows cULus and NSF marks.
What warranty does it have?
Hatco's limited warranty runs 18 months from shipment or product registration, whichever is later. Hatco lists metal-sheathed food warmer elements at 1 year parts and labor plus 1 more year parts only. Register within 90 days of shipment.
