Description
A 36" Southbend electric range with six 9" round hotplates over a standard oven, for kitchens that cook on electric power.
The Southbend SE36D-BBB is a heavy-duty electric range for restaurants, schools, institutions and kitchens without gas service. The top has six 9" solid round hotplates of 2.6 kW, each on a 4-position high/medium/low/off switch; below is a 6.0 kW standard deck oven with one slide-out rack. It draws 21.6 kW on a 208V or 240V 3-phase supply and is hard-wired, so plan the circuit with your electrician before ordering. Order it hatchable and it arrives in two sections that pass through a 26" wide door.

Six round hotplates
Six 9" solid hotplates of 2.6 kW each, every one on its own high/medium/low/off switch, for pan and pot work across the full 36" top.
Standard deck oven
A 6.0 kW deck oven with a removable rigidized steel deck, one slide-out rack, 12-1/2" clearance height and a 60 lb meat capacity. 150°F to 450°F.
Hatchable for tight kitchens
Specify hatchable and the range top and oven base ship separately, each small enough for a 26" wide door, then bolt together on site. A marine kit is available for shipboard use.
Built for daily cleaning
Stainless steel front, sides and top, front and rear grease troughs draining to two drawer-type receptacles.
Front serviceable
The control panel is hinged and the whole range is serviced from the front, so it can sit tight against the wall.

Delivery and setup
- Ships by freight carrier. See our shipping policy for delivery details, and call us for the current lead time.
- Tell us the voltage (208V or 240V, 3-phase) and whether you want it assembled or hatchable when you order; Southbend builds it to that specification.
- A hatchable range arrives as a range top and an oven base; they bolt together with 4 bolts and the top's wiring harness connects to the base terminal block.
- Inspect the shipment before signing for it and note any damage on the bill. Report concealed damage to the carrier within 15 days.
- Have a licensed electrician hard-wire it to a 3-phase circuit sized from Southbend's electrical data.
Questions buyers ask
Can it run on single-phase power?
No. Southbend builds the SE36 standard and convection oven models for 3-phase power only: 208V or 240V, or 480V at additional cost. Tell us your voltage when you order.
Does it plug into an outlet?
No. It is hard-wired to a terminal block in the base, with knockouts in the bottom and back for the supply. At 208V the line current is 57.6 / 57.6 / 64.9 A, at 240V 49.9 / 49.9 / 56.3 A; your electrician sizes the circuit from these figures.
Will it fit through my door?
Assembled, the range is 36" wide and 38.5" deep. If your doorways are tight, order it hatchable: it ships in two sections that pass through a 26" wide door and are assembled in the kitchen. Measure the whole delivery path first.
What fits in the oven?
The deck oven has one rack position with a slide-out rack and a 12-1/2" clearance height. Each rack holds two 12" x 20" pans, one 18" x 26" roll pan, one 18" x 24" meat pan, ten 1 lb loaf pans or six 9" pie tins.
How close can it go to a wall?
The owner's manual calls for 3" from side walls and 0" at the rear. The range is fully front serviceable. Check local codes and your hood requirements.
What does the warranty cover?
Southbend covers defects in parts and labor for 1 year from purchase, up to 18 months from the factory sale, serviced by a Southbend Authorized Service Agency. Seals, light bulbs and similar wear parts are limited to 90 days, and damage from improper installation or misuse is not covered.
