The Edlund 356XL/115V is the 3/16" slice model of the 350XL Series electric produce slicer, for 115V power. High-speed reciprocating stainless steel serrated blades cut cleanly with very little pressure, so even overripe, soft tomatoes come out in uniform slices. The XL opening, blade assembly and pusher are 1-1/2" larger than the standard 350 for larger items such as beefsteak tomatoes or cooked chicken breasts, and it comes with two blade assemblies and two wash guards to cut downtime. Lower the pusher and the blades start; the stainless steel and aluminum slicer comes apart for cleaning.
16 high-speed reciprocating stainless steel serrated blades cut cleanly with minimum pressure.
The motor starts when you lower the pusher toward the blades, and stops when you raise it.

Tomatoes, oranges, peppers and other soft products up to 3-1/2" in diameter. Do not slice hard, dense produce such as onions or potatoes: it voids the warranty and damages the blades and pusher fingers.
The XL opening, blade assembly and pusher are 1-1/2" larger, with a 5.75" throat instead of 4.25", and it comes with two blade assemblies and two wash guards. It also has a DC motor for constant torque.

Yes, by changing the blade assembly and the matching pusher insert. Edlund lists 3/16" (16 blades), 1/4" (12 blades) and 3/8" (8 blades) assemblies. Pusher inserts must match the blade assembly.
Lock the stainless steel wash guard over the blade cartridge and wash it in a dishwasher or by hand. Wipe the rest of the slicer with a damp cloth; never put the motor housing in water.
Edlund warrants it against defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Blades that wear in normal use are not covered.
