Description

A 12-inch built-in induction cooktop with 2 cooking zones, sized for compact kitchens in hotel suites, apartments and similar spaces.

Summit SINC2B231W 12" 2-zone induction cooktop, white glass, top view

The Summit SINC2B231W is a 2-zone induction cooktop with a white EuroKera glass top, rated 3,500 W on 208-240V. Rear 8-1/4" zone at 2,000 W; front 6-1/4" zone at 1,500 W. It drops into a 10-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D counter cutout and must be hardwired by a professional; no cord or plug is included.

Will it fit · Will it hook up

Outside size
11-3/8" W x 20-1/2" D x 1-7/8" H; 14 lb. cooktop
Counter cutout
10-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D; counter at least 1.2" thick with 2" clear around the cutout
Power
208-240V, 60 Hz, 15 A; hardwired by an electrician, no cord or plug included
Above the cooktop
At least 30" to a cabinet above
Cookware
Magnetic pans: cast iron, steel or magnetic stainless steel

The glass is 11-3/8" wide but the cutout is 10-5/8" wide: measure the counter opening, not the old cooktop.

Heat in the pan

Induction makes heat inside the cookware. Summit says about 85% of the heat goes into the pan contents, and most of the glass stays cooler, so spills bake on less.

Two induction zones

Rear 8-1/4" zone at 2,000 W. Front 6-1/4" zone at 1,500 W.

Slider touch controls

A centered slider with digital display sets the power. The timer runs up to 99 minutes and can turn the zone off or count down with an alert; stop & go pauses all zones and resumes the last settings.

Safety shutoffs

Child lock, one-minute cut-off if no power level is chosen, overflow shutoff when liquid or a wet cloth touches the controls, overheat protection, automatic shutdown and a residual heat light.

Front controls

Controls sit up front, so nobody reaches over a hot pan. Summit lists the design as ADA compliant.

Delivery and setup

  • Inspect the carton for damage before you sign, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
  • A qualified electrician must hardwire it to an individual grounded 208-240V circuit protected by a circuit breaker (Summit rates it 15 A). No cord or plug is included.
  • Cut the counter to 10-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D. Summit's manual asks for a counter at least 1.2" thick, 2" clear around the cutout and at least 30" to a cabinet above.
  • Attach the supplied foam gasket under the glass edge before setting the cooktop in, then secure it with the included mounting clips and screws.
  • Summit's manual advises anyone with a pacemaker or other electrical implant to check with their doctor before using an induction cooktop.

Questions buyers ask

What pans can I use?

Magnetic pans only: cast iron, steel or magnetic stainless steel. Aluminum, copper and non-magnetic stainless steel will not heat. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it works.

What power does it need?

208-240V, 60 Hz, 15 A, hardwired by a professional to an individual grounded circuit with a breaker. No cord or plug is included.

What size cutout does it need?

10-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D. The glass top is 11-3/8" W x 20-1/2" D and stands 1-7/8" tall. Mounting clips and screws come with it.

How does it differ from the SINC2B230B?

The SINC2B230B is the black-glass version. Summit lists boost on the SINC2B230B; the white SINC2B231W runs its zones at 2,000 W, 1,500 W without boost.

What warranty does it have?

Summit lists a 1-year parts and labor warranty. Per the Summit warranty, labor is covered in the 48 contiguous states; outside them, parts are covered for one year.
