The Summit SINC5B36B is a 5-zone induction cooktop with a jet black glass top, rated 10,200 W on 208-240V. Center 11" zone at 2,300 W (3,000 W on boost); front left and rear right 8-1/4" zones at 2,000 W (3,000 W on boost); rear left and front right 6-1/4" zones at 1,500 W (2,000 W on boost). It drops into a 34-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D counter cutout and must be hardwired by a professional; no cord or plug is included.
Will it fit · Will it hook up
- Outside size
- 35-1/2" W x 20-1/2" D x 2" H; 40 lb. cooktop
- Counter cutout
- 34-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D; counter at least 1.2" thick with 2" clear around the cutout
- Power
- 208-240V, 60 Hz, 50 A; hardwired by an electrician, no cord or plug included
- Above the cooktop
- At least 30" to a cabinet above

The glass is 35-1/2" wide but the cutout is 34-5/8" wide: measure the counter opening, not the old cooktop.
Heat in the pan
Induction makes heat inside the cookware. Summit says about 85% of the heat goes into the pan contents, and most of the glass stays cooler, so spills bake on less.
5 induction zones
Center 11" zone at 2,300 W (3,000 W on boost). Front left and rear right 8-1/4" zones at 2,000 W (3,000 W on boost). Rear left and front right 6-1/4" zones at 1,500 W (2,000 W on boost). Boost runs a zone at the higher setting for up to 5 minutes, for example to boil water faster.
Diagonal layout
The two 8-1/4" zones sit diagonally with maximum spacing, so large pots can be used side by side.
Slider touch controls
A centered slider with digital display sets the power. The timer runs up to 99 minutes and can turn the zone off or count down with an alert; stop & go pauses all zones and resumes the last settings.
Safety shutoffs
Child lock, one-minute cut-off if no power level is chosen, overflow shutoff when liquid or a wet cloth touches the controls, overheat protection, automatic shutdown and a residual heat light.
Front controls
Controls sit up front, so nobody reaches over a hot pan. Summit lists the design as ADA compliant.
Delivery and setup
- Inspect the carton for damage before you sign, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
- A qualified electrician must hardwire it to an individual grounded 208-240V circuit protected by a circuit breaker (Summit rates it 50 A). No cord or plug is included.
- Cut the counter to 34-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D. Summit's manual asks for a counter at least 1.2" thick, 2" clear around the cutout and at least 30" to a cabinet above.
- Attach the supplied foam gasket under the glass edge before setting the cooktop in, then secure it with the included mounting clips and screws.
- Summit's manual advises anyone with a pacemaker or other electrical implant to check with their doctor before using an induction cooktop.
Questions buyers ask
What pans can I use?
Magnetic pans only: cast iron, steel or magnetic stainless steel. Aluminum, copper and non-magnetic stainless steel will not heat. If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it works.
What power does it need?
208-240V, 60 Hz, 50 A, hardwired by a professional to an individual grounded circuit with a breaker. No cord or plug is included.
What size cutout does it need?
34-5/8" W x 19-5/8" D. The glass top is 35-1/2" W x 20-1/2" D and stands 2" tall. Mounting clips and screws come with it.
What does boost do?
Each zone can run at a higher setting for up to 5 minutes, which shortens the time to boil water. Center 11": 2,300 W, 3,000 W on boost; Front left and rear right 8-1/4": 2,000 W, 3,000 W on boost; Rear left and front right 6-1/4": 1,500 W, 2,000 W on boost.
What warranty does it have?
Summit lists a 1-year parts and labor warranty. Per the Summit warranty, labor is covered in the 48 contiguous states; outside them, parts are covered for one year.
