Berkel X13A-PLUS 13" Automatic Gravity Feed Slicer, 45° Table, Stainless Steel Knife, Gauge Plate Interlock, 1/2 HP, 120V
A 13-inch automatic slicer with three speeds and three stroke lengths for high-volume deli and kitchen slicing.
The Berkel X13A-PLUS is the automatic model of the X13-PLUS series. It has a 13" hollow ground stainless steel knife, a 1/2 HP knife motor and a 45° gravity feed table with a full-length articulating rear pusher. The base, product table, pusher, support arm and upper housing are NSF approved engineered polymers that reduce seams, and a brushless DC table motor runs the carriage at 20, 40 or 60 slices per minute.
Plan a solid, level counter with room for the table stroke. A kick stand lifts the front about 6 inches for cleaning underneath.
In automatic mode the table runs at 20, 40 or 60 slices per minute in 1/3, 2/3 or full stroke, so short products slice faster without speeding up the table. It returns home at the end of the cycle.
A variable pitch barrel cam gives ultra-fine adjustment in the first turn of the index knob and opens to 15/16" (34 mm). The knob sits on the upper left, outside the drip zone.
The removable, submersible, table-mounted two-stone dual-action sharpener uses Borazon stones that last longer, sharpen faster and clean easier.
Mechanical interlock with twisted wire aircraft cables: the table must be home and the gauge plate closed to remove the table, and the plate cannot open once it is off.
One-piece NSF polymer base and product table, anodized aluminum gauge plate and center plate, sealed push-button switches out of the food zone.
No-volt release requires a restart after a power interruption, and a permanent ring guard covers the entire non-slicing part of the knife.
A grounded 120V outlet. The slicer is furnished in 120V, 60 Hz, single phase and has an attached 6 ft. 3-wire cord and plug.
Stop the slicer, pull the automatic engage knob out, choose the speed (20, 40 or 60 slices per minute) and the stroke length, then press start. Pressing stop finishes the stroke and parks the table at home.
Boneless meat, cheese and vegetables. Berkel says it is not for frozen foods, bone-in products or non-food items.
Rectangular product up to 10-1/2" x 6-3/4", square up to 7-1/2" or round up to 8-1/2".
The sharpener, product fence and a brush are packed in the cardboard base with the slicer.
Berkel lists a vegetable chute with pusher, a product fence and a slaw tray.
Berkel covers parts, labor and travel for one year, excluding wear items such as knives, blades and sharpening stones. Repairs go through Hobart Service or a Designated Berkel Service Location.
