Blodgett 981-966 60" Double Stack Gas Deck Oven, 2 x 7" + 16-1/4" Decks, 6 Sheet Pans, 100,000 BTU, Natural Gas or LP
Description
A 981 over 966 combination deck oven: three compartments in one 60" footprint, each section with its own heat.
The Blodgett 981-966 stacks a 981 section on a 966 for bakeries, restaurants, pizzerias and institutions that want three compartments with separate heat in one footprint: 3 baking compartments (7" + 7" + 16-1/4" high), each 42" x 32". Each section has its own burner and thermostat, 100,000 BTU/hr in total, on 7" stainless steel legs. Choose natural gas or LP and the venting when you order; it needs no electricity.

Built like a battleship
A full angle-iron frame and welded stainless steel front, top, sides and back carry the weight of stacked sections for years of daily use.
Separate heat per deck
Each section has its own duplex-tube burner and liquid-pressure thermostat, so you can bake and roast at different temperatures at the same time.
Steel deck, stone optional
The 12-gauge press-formed aluminized steel deck suits breads, pans and roasts; a QHT Rokite pizza deck and a 300-650°F FDTH thermostat are available as options (Rokite in the bottom 981 compartment only).
Easy on the operator
Counterbalanced doors with concealed hinges open without springs, and burner doors open for lighting, cleaning or adjustment without removing any fasteners.
Delivery and setup
- Free shipping on this item. See our shipping policy for delivery details.
- Ships by freight carrier, one crate per section, about 1,345 lb in total; plan how it will be unloaded and moved inside.
- Choose natural gas or LP, the venting (draft diverter for a canopy hood, or direct vent) and the thermostat when ordering; the oven is built to that configuration.
- A qualified gas installer should connect and vent the oven to local codes; Blodgett's manual covers hood and direct-flue venting.
- Inspect the shipment for damage before signing for it.
Questions buyers ask
Does it need electricity?
No. The 900 Series gas deck ovens need no electrical connection; each section has a gas burner with a safety pilot and a liquid-pressure thermostat.
What gas connection does it need?
A 3/4" NPT gas line to one manifolded connection on the back sized for 100,000 BTU/hr. Inlet pressure is 7" to 10.5" W.C. on natural gas and 11" to 13" W.C. on propane. Choose the gas type when you order.
Will it fit through my door?
Blodgett lists a minimum entry clearance of 32-1/2" uncrated and 37" in the crate, per section; stacked ovens ship one section per crate and are assembled on site. Measure every door and turn on the delivery path before ordering.
How is it vented?
Blodgett deck ovens are direct fired. Vent them under a mechanical canopy hood with the draft diverter, or with a direct flue (6" Class B or better). Keep 6" from combustible and non-combustible construction on the sides, back and bottom.
How much does it hold?
Blodgett lists 4 sheet pans in the 981, 2 sheet pans in the 966 (18" x 26"): 4 + 2 = 6 in this stack.
Can I bake pizza in it?
Yes. Order the optional QHT Rokite pizza deck and the FDTH 300-650°F thermostat (Rokite goes in the bottom 981 compartment only). With the standard steel deck it is set up for baking and roasting at 200-500°F.
What does the warranty cover?
Blodgett gives a 2-year parts and 1-year labor warranty, plus a 5-year limited warranty on the oven door. Damage from improper venting is not covered, according to Blodgett's manual.
