The Cookline CSM-36-RM is a gas infrared salamander broiler and cheese melter for restaurants, steakhouses and diners that finish dishes to order. Its 30,000 BTU infrared burner heats instantly, a standby pilot keeps it ready, and the rack sets in 3 positions. It comes with a 36" range mounting kit to sit on a range backsplash. It runs on natural gas through a 3/4" rear connection.

The kit includes an enlarged top heat shelf, L-shaped brackets, connecting plates and the screws. Per the Cookline manual, the range's top shelf and support brackets come off the backsplash and the kit's brackets take their place, then the salamander bolts on. It must sit level.
Natural gas through a 3/4" NPT rear connection, 30,000 BTU/H. The manual lists a 4.0" W.C. manifold pressure and rates it at 36,000 BTU/H total, so ask us to confirm before you size the gas line. Fit a shut-off valve upstream and use metal gas pipe.
The spec sheet lists easy conversion from natural gas to propane, but no conversion kit is listed as included. Have a qualified technician do it and call us for the parts.
No. The infrared burner heats up instantly, and the standby pilot makes it quick to light. Raise or lower the rack to brown, melt or finish food.
The manual asks for 10 cm (about 4") from side walls and 6" at the rear for servicing, non-combustible surroundings, and a well-ventilated area, ideally under a hood.
Pull out the oil tray and rack daily and wipe them with a damp cloth and mild soap. The manual warns against water hoses, steam cleaners, wire brushes and acid or alkaline cleaners, and asks for heat-resistant grease on the lift.
USR Brands covers Cookline gas and electric cooking equipment for 1 year parts and labor from delivery, in the contiguous US. Food truck and farm installs are parts only, residential use is not covered; gas connections must be made by a qualified installer.
