Edlund 270/115V Heavy Duty Electric Can Opener, 2-Speed, NSF, Stainless Steel, 115V
Description
A heavy duty two-speed electric can opener for kitchens that open 100 to 200 cans a day.
The Edlund 270 is a 115 volt version of Edlund's Model 270 heavy duty electric can opener. It is Edlund's flagship opener for high-volume kitchens that open different can sizes. A two-speed motor, slot-machine style lever and stainless steel body are built for 100 to 200 cans per day, and the knife holder, knife, drive gear and shield come off without tools for cleaning.

Two-speed motor
High speed handles most cans. The slower speed is for difficult cans and helps prevent spills when opening smaller cans.
Tool-free cleaning
The knife holder, knife, drive gear and shield come off without tools for cleaning or replacement.
Low-effort lever
A slot-machine style lever needs minimal effort and cuts fatigue. The opener severs the lid in one full turn of the can.
Built for volume
Edlund recommends the 270 for 100 to 200 cans per day. A gear and shield keep splash-back out of the interior, and the base is sealed.
Lifts heavy cans
Precisely weighted and balanced, the 270 lifts even the heaviest #10 can to the knife. A sculpted base guides a full #10 can.
Delivery and setup
- Inspect the carton for damage before you sign, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
- Plug the opener into a grounded 115 volt outlet with the same voltage listed on the back of the opener.
- Severed can lids have sharp edges; Edlund advises a protective glove or tongs when handling lids.
Questions buyers ask
How many cans per day can it handle?
Edlund recommends the 270 series for 100 to 200 cans per day.
What power does it need?
This is the 115 volt version. Plug it into a grounded outlet with the same voltage listed on the back of the opener. The Model 270 manual lists 115V, 1.5 amp, 50-60 Hz.
How do I clean it?
Unplug it first. Turn the knife holder latch, slide and lift off the knife holder, twist off the knife, then turn the shield a quarter turn to remove the shield and gear. Keep the knife clean so it turns freely; a knife bound by food will not shear the lid as designed.
Why use the low speed?
Edlund says high speed is for most cans and low speed is for difficult cans. The slower speed also helps prevent spilling liquids from smaller cans.
What is the warranty?
Edlund warrants the Model 270 for three years from purchase against defects in material and workmanship. Knives and drive gears are parts that wear in normal use and are not covered.
Is it NSF certified?
Yes. Edlund calls the 270 its NSF certified heavy-volume electric can opener, and its catalog notes it is USDA accepted.
