Edlund model S-11CE is a manual can opener with a 16" standard bar: the S-11 is Edlund's all-stainless, dishwasher-safe opener, which Edlund backs with what it calls the industry's longest warranty. It comes on a stainless steel clamp base that secures to the underside of the table, so no screw holes are needed. The 16" standard bar suits standard can sizes; Edlund also makes long-bar versions for taller cans. Each opener also comes with an ST-93 cleaning tool and 1 extra knife and gear. Edlund says a worn knife can cause metal slivers. Never resharpen it: the blade is reversible and should be replaced every 2,500 cans.
Remove the pull pin and knife holder, unscrew the gear, and brush away residue with the Edlund ST-93 cleaning brush. All parts are dishwasher safe; do not soak them. Dry the parts and coat the knife and gear with a light vegetable oil.
Edlund lists a 5-year warranty for the S-11 series. Knives and drive gears wear in normal use and are not covered.
