It comes on a cast stainless steel clamp base, so it mounts with a clamp instead of screws. The 22" long bar handles taller cans than the 16" standard bar. The 22" long bar is made for taller cans than the 16" standard bar. Edlund does not print a maximum can height for this model, so tell us your can size and we will confirm it.
Replace the knife and gear when they wear. The quick change gear and pull pin make blade replacement easy, and Edlund sells an S-11/U-12 knife and gear replacement kit.
The U-12 comes apart easily: pull the pin to remove the knife holder, then clean the head, knife and gear. Edlund also sells the ST-93 rustproof cleaning tool for can openers.
Edlund warrants the U-12 against defects in material and workmanship for one year from purchase. Knives and drive gears are not covered.
