A built-in simulated stone cold shelf, flush to the countertop, that keeps pans of pre-chilled food cold on a buffet line, with 48" x 18" of chilled surface.
The Hatco CSSBP-4818 is a self-contained cold shelf with a simulated stone top that mounts from below, flush to the countertop. A copper evaporator coil chills the surface, and an attached 1/3 HP condensing unit runs on R-290 refrigerant. It plugs into a standard 120V outlet with a NEMA 5-15P plug and matches the Hatco GRSSB heated stone shelves for a matching hot and cold line.
Measure the counter opening before ordering: the cutout sizes above are what the shelf drops into.
An attached 1/3 HP condensing unit uses R-290 refrigerant, 2.8 oz. factory fill. Hatco states R-290 absorbs heat 90% better than other refrigerants for faster recovery and lower energy use.
A patented thermal break cuts condensation and cold transfer onto the countertop around the shelf.
Foodsafe Swanstone simulated stone in Ash Gray, with Birch or Ice at no charge when ordered. Stains and scratches can be worked out with the supplied abrasive pad.
An electronic temperature control box with on/off switch comes on a 4 ft. lead wire, so it can mount on the cabinet front away from the shelf. Hatco presets it to 25°F and auto-defrost can be set on site.
The condensing unit sits under the left end as standard; a center-aligned condenser is a no-charge factory option.

No. It holds food and drinks that are already chilled. Hatco presets it to 25°F; let it run about 60 minutes before you load pans of pre-chilled food.
Yes, with ventilation. Hatco calls for 12" x 12" louvered or grill openings and intake ducting, at least 7" around the condensing unit, and cabinet air no warmer than 86°F. Do not store anything in that cabinet.
At order time only: Birch or Ice Swanstone instead of standard Ash Gray at no charge, Dekton Rem, Domoos or Soke stone or a black or white glass-ceramic top, a center-aligned condenser, and an additional 4-year parts-only compressor warranty. Non-standard colors are non-returnable.
Hatco's manual refers to a standard one year warranty, with 24/7 parts and service help in the US and Canada. An extra 4-year parts-only compressor warranty can be bought with the unit.
