Hatco FR2-4 Hydro-Heater Food Rethermalizer / Bain-Marie Heater, 4 kW, 208/240V 1-Phase
A digital-control water heater that mounts under a bain-marie or rethermalizer and holds the bath at 140°F to 190°F.
The Hatco FR2-4 is a 4.0 kW FR2 Hydro-Heater for food rethermalizers and bain-maries. It supplies temperature-controlled water to a vessel mounted above it. The heating element is wrapped around the outside of a tubular water chamber, so it never touches the water, and an electronic controller with a digital display holds the set point. This model is built for 208 or 240V, single phase.
Water over 3.0 grains of hardness per gallon must be treated and softened before it reaches the heater.

No. The FR2 is the heating unit only. It attaches to the bottom of a vessel or sink you supply and feeds it hot water. The perforated baffle is supplied by the installer.
Hatco builds the FR2-4 for 208 or 240V, single phase. At 208V it draws 19.2 A on a 30 A breaker. At 240V it draws 16.7 A on a 30 A breaker. Tell us your voltage when you order.
Hatco calls for one FR2 per bain-marie up to 6 ft. long and at least two above 6 ft. Size it at a minimum of 750 W per sq. ft. of vessel top for a bain-marie, or 2,000 W per sq. ft. for a rethermalizer.
At the time of purchase you can add an all stainless steel body and base, an Auto-Fill solenoid, a remote mounted control or a security package with Torx screws and a control cover.
The FR2 is UL Classified to NSF 4 for construction only. The vessel maker must have the complete rethermalizer tested and listed to NSF Standard 4.
Hatco gives the FR2 a 1-year parts and labor warranty. Failures caused by lime or sediment buildup are not covered.
