Hatco GRAHL-18 Glo-Ray 18" High Watt Infrared Strip Heater with Lights, 470W, 120, 120/208 or 120/240V
An 18-inch high watt heat strip with built-in display lights that keeps plated food hot and well lit at the pass.
The Hatco GRAHL-18 is an 18" Glo-Ray high watt strip heater with lights for a pass-through, heated shelf or serving line. A tubular metal-sheathed element and pre-focused reflector spread 470 W of infrared heat over the food, while 2 shatter-resistant coated incandescent bulbs light it for staff and guests. It is built for 120, 120/208 or 120/240V single phase, set at order; the dual-voltage versions run the lights on 120V and the heat on 208V or 240V. A toggle switch on the chef's left side is standard, and the unit is hardwired through a 36" flexible metal conduit.
Measure the span: the housing is 18" long and 9" deep, and keep at least 3" between two strip heaters mounted side by side.
2 shatter-resistant coated incandescent bulbs light the food while protecting it from bulb breakage.
The tubular metal-sheathed element and pre-focused reflector cover the holding surface with 470 W, with no cold spots.
A continuous extruded aluminum housing spans the full 18" without sagging, and the reflector does not blacken.
GRAHL models are Hatco's high watt version, for a pass where the element hangs 11" to 14" above the food.
Designer colors, sneeze guards, halogen or extra bulbs, infinite or remote controls and stands are factory options at the time of purchase.
It is single phase and built for 120, 120/208 or 120/240V, set at order. At 470 W it draws 3.9 A at 120V, 2.7 A at 120/208V or 2.5 A at 120/240V.
Those versions have two circuits: 120V for the lights and 208V or 240V for the heat. The wiring diagram with the unit shows the hookup.
2 coated incandescent bulbs; Hatco's standard is one per foot of length. Hatco offers halogen bulbs on 120V units and extra lamps, up to two per foot less one, at the time of purchase.
Hatco recommends 11" to 14" from the element to the food for high watt models, and at least 13-1/2" above combustible surfaces.
Turn it off, let it cool, then wipe the metal surfaces with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry it. Do not submerge it, steam clean it or use a lot of water.
Hatco repairs or replaces defective parts for 18 months from shipment or registration, whichever is later. The metal-sheathed heating element has 1 year parts and labor plus a second year parts only. Register within 90 days.
