A built-in heated shelf with a 1/2" recessed top that keeps pans and platters hot at the pass or on the buffet line.
The Hatco GRSB-54-I is a Glo-Ray built-in heated shelf that drops into a 54-1/2" to 54-3/4" wide countertop opening. Its hardcoat aluminum top is recessed 1/2" below the flange, which keeps pans and platters in place on the heated surface. A blanket-type element under the whole surface spreads 1,110 W of heat evenly, and fiberglass insulation keeps it at the top. The control box with thermostat and lighted power switch hangs on a 36" conduit and plugs into 120V with a 6 ft. cord.
Measure the cutout carefully: Hatco allows only 1/4" of play, 54-1/2" to 54-3/4" wide.
A blanket-type foil element covers the whole 54" W x 19-1/2" D heated area, so food holds at the same temperature across the shelf.
Hardcoat aluminum surface recessed 1/2" (13 mm) to keep pans and platters in place.
The control box has an adjustable thermostat and a lighted On/Off rocker switch. Hatco allows 30 minutes to reach operating temperature.
A 3/4" flanged edge sits on the countertop, and Z-brackets clamp the unit from below in counters up to 1-1/4" thick.
Hatco says the next larger size GRA or GR2A strip heater fits over the shelf for heat from above and below.
Notched stainless channel dividers (GRSB-CD-54) and stainless rods (GRSB-DIV-I) split the shelf into holding lanes.

Yes. It can be mounted under the counter, on a surface or panel, or recessed, up to 36" from the unit on the standard conduit. Hatco also offers flush mount control boxes; 6 ft. and 10 ft. conduits work with the flush mount ITC box only.
Hatco recommends a metallic countertop. For other materials, confirm with the counter maker that the material is rated for long periods at 200°F. Hatco does not cover counter damage.
Turn it off, unplug it and let it cool, then wipe it with a damp non-abrasive cloth. Do not use a water jet or steam, and do not slide rough-bottomed pans across the hardcoat top.
Hatco repairs or replaces defective parts for 18 months from shipment or registration, whichever is later. Register within 90 days. 24/7 parts and service help is available in the US and Canada.
