A 42" x 24" heated hardcoat aluminum shelf that drops into your counter and sits flush with the top, so a buffet or pass-through line holds hot pans without a raised warmer.
The Hatco HSBF-HC-4224 is a bottom-mounted, flush built-in heated shelf with a hardcoat aluminum surface. A blanket-type element under the surface spreads heat across the whole 42" x 24" holding area, and insulation keeps that heat at the top. A remote control box with an adjustable thermostat and lighted on/off rocker switch hangs on a 3 ft. conduit, and the unit plugs into a standard 120V outlet. Hatco lists it for cafeteria buffet lines, server-to-customer pass-throughs and other self-service areas.
Plan the 42-3/8" x 24-3/8" counter cutout and a grounded 120V receptacle within reach of the control box before the shelf arrives.
Four corner brackets under the counter carry leveling bolts, so you can set the shelf flush with, or slightly below, the countertop.
The hardcoat aluminum surface and blanket-type element give uniform heat across the 42" x 24" area to extend food holding times.
The standard control box has an adjustable thermostat and a lighted on/off rocker switch. Insulation keeps the heat at the holding surface.
The box rides on a 3 ft. conduit and mounts on a panel, a wall surface or under the counter. Recess mounting needs a 7-1/4" W x 3-1/4" H opening.
At order you can choose flush mount electronic (ITC) or thermostatic control boxes, small flush versions, 6 or 10 ft. conduit with ITC boxes, and seven bezel colors.
Cut the counter to 42-3/8" x 24-3/8" with 3/8" radius corners. The shelf measures 45-1/8" x 27-1/8" over the brackets and is 5-11/32" deep below the top.
A grounded 120V receptacle for a NEMA 5-15P plug. The shelf draws 1090 watts and 9.1 amps, and the 6 ft. cord comes off the control box.
No. Hatco says food must be wrapped, boxed or held in a food pan. Do not place food straight on the hardcoat surface.
Hatco recommends a metal counter. The manual lists stainless steel, wood, Corian and simulated stone as mounting materials, but the counter must be suitable for temperatures up to 200°F, and Hatco is not responsible for counter damage from heat.
Turn it off, unplug it and let it cool. Wipe metal surfaces with a damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry them. Do not use steel wool, bleach, oven cleaner, jet spray or excess water.
Hatco's limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for 18 months, counted from shipment or from product registration, whichever is later. Register the unit with Hatco within 90 days of shipment.
