The Hatco IWB-S2 is an insulated drop-in slim ice well that holds two full-size food pans, placed lengthwise over a bed of ice. It has no refrigeration or electrical parts: you fill it with ice, set pre-chilled food in the pans and drain the melt water through a 1" brass drain. The bezel design lets cold air blanket the food and gives guests a clear view and easy reach. It sits in a 48-1/8" x 19" countertop opening and suits salad bars, cold buffets and chilled beverage bars.
Cut the counter to the 46-1/4" to 47-1/8" x 17-1/16" to 17-15/16" range Hatco gives, and brace the counter for the weight of the well, ice and food.
The well is cooled by ice only, so there is no compressor, cord or refrigerant line to run under the counter.
Insulation on the sides and bottom holds the cold longer, so the ice lasts and you refill less often.
The angled inside wall lets cold air blanket the food and gives guests a clear view and easy access to the pans.
A larger 1" brass drain with a flat screen lets melt water run off and keeps the well simple to clean.

No. The well is cooled by ice only and has no refrigeration or electrical components. You only need a drain connection or a catch pan under the drain fitting.
Fill the well with ice, leaving room for the pans, set the empty pans in, then add food that is already chilled to a safe temperature. Hatco notes the well holds cold more efficiently when every pan position is filled.
Hatco lists 2FBS8 (8" deep, sits on the bottom of the well and leaves room for 8" of ice) or 2FBS3.5 (hangs from the pan ledge, 3-1/2" of ice), each with one 2-pan insert. False bottoms hold the ice above the drain for better draining.
Yes. Hatco offers pan support bars to divide the well for half-size and third-size pans. For this model Hatco lists the CWB12BAR 12" pan support bar.
Two factory options are available only at the time of purchase: the IWB-S2SLANT slant kit that tilts the well 5 degrees (water will not fully drain with the slant installed) and the BEZELGASKET-S2 factory-installed gasket that replaces silicone sealant.
Hatco warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for 18 months for parts not listed with a different term in its limited warranty. Register the unit online with Hatco within 90 days of factory shipment.
