The Hatco UGAL-72D is an Ultra-Glo ceramic dual infrared strip heater with lights. Two ceramic elements sit side by side in an extruded aluminum housing, with a 6" spacer between them, so one 72" unit covers a deeper holding area. The ceramic heat source lets you mount it higher, which gives cooks and servers more working room. 6 shatter-resistant incandescent lights show off the food. Voltage is set when you order: 120/208V (4,280 W) or 120/240V (4,360 W), single phase. The lights run on 120V and the heat runs on 208V or 240V.
Each of the two circuits may need its own circuit breaker; have your electrician check the wiring diagram supplied with the unit.
The ceramic element lets the unit hang higher than a standard strip heater, so there is more working clearance under it.
Two elements side by side with a 6" spacer make the unit 18" deep. Hatco recommends a dual unit for a 20" to 24" deep pass-through.
The heat pattern concentrates heat at the edges, where heat loss is greatest, so food at the sides stays as hot as food in the middle.
The 72" continuous extruded aluminum housing does not sag. Clear anodized aluminum is standard.
6 coated, shatter-resistant incandescent bulbs light the food and guard against bulb breakage.
It comes with toggle switches and indicator lights, either in an attached control box or in a remote control enclosure.
UGAL-72D is built for 120/208V or 120/240V, single phase. Pick the one that matches your building when you order. It uses two circuits; at 120/208V they draw 9.4 A and 12.4 A, at 120/240V 8.3 A and 11.3 A.
Hatco recommends 18" to 22" above the food for standard watt dual units. With the 6" spacer the target holding width is about 24".
The standard 3" spacer makes the unit 15" deep; the optional 6" spacer adds 3" for an 18" deep unit and a wider holding area. This listing is the 6" spacer version.
Adjustable angle brackets, leads in a 3 ft. conduit whip, and toggle switches with indicator lights in an attached control box or remote control enclosure. Tubular stands and longer leads are factory options.
Yes, at the time of purchase: Designer colors (Warm Red, Black, Gray Granite, White Granite, Navy Blue, Hunter Green, Antique Copper) and Gloss finishes (Glossy Gray, Bold Black, Gleaming Gold, Brilliant Blue, Radiant Red). Clear anodized aluminum is standard. Non-standard colors are non-returnable.
Hatco's limited warranty runs 18 months from shipment or product registration, whichever is later. The spec sheet says the ceramic heating elements are warranted against burnout for one year. Light bulbs are not covered.
The spec sheet shows UL and NSF marks for all dual units (cULus applies only up to 36" widths) and a Made in USA mark.
