A single 45-50 lb. high efficiency gas fryer with its own built-in filter, for kitchens that fry all day and filter every night.
The RHEF-45-1-DM packs a 45-50 lb. stainless steel tank, 3 burners (99,000 BTU/hr) and a built-in filter into a 15.5" wide cabinet. The DM control is a digital solid state thermostat. It suits restaurants, chicken and fish shops and high-volume kitchens that want filtration without a separate filter cart.

Measure the hood line and the 30" aisle in front of the fryer: the filter pan slides out the front, so that space must stay clear.
Built-in filtration
An 8 gpm filter pump returns oil through the wash-down hose; Royal says a normal filter cycle takes about 5 minutes. Royal Plus and Ultra-Plus versions return oil through the bottom of the tank.
High efficiency burners
The tank has 3 in-shot burners at 33,000 BTU/hr (3 burners x 33,000 = 99,000 BTU/hr per tank) heating the oil through Royal's heat exchanger, with 63% energy efficiency and "zero" recovery time.
DM controls
The fryer has a digital solid state thermostat.
Safe drain
A 1 1/4" full port drain valve with an interlock switch shuts the burners off whenever the drain is open.

- Choose natural gas or LP and the filtration type when you order. If your kitchen is above 2,000 feet, tell us the elevation so Royal can set the unit up for it.
- A qualified gas installer must connect it with a manual shut-off valve following local codes; no external regulator is needed. On casters, Royal calls for a quick-disconnect flexible connector and a restraining device.
- Plug the filter into a grounded 115V 3-prong receptacle; boil out each new tank before the first fill.
- Inspect the shipment before signing and note any visible damage on the freight bill.
Questions buyers ask
How much oil does it hold?
The stainless steel tank holds 45-50 lbs. of oil, and the cooking area is 13 1/2" x 14 3/8".
Does it need electricity as well as gas?
Yes, for the filter pump: Royal lists 115V, 1-phase, 50/60 Hz at 7 A + 1.5 A per tank = 8.5 A for 1 tank. It plugs into a grounded 3-prong outlet with a 6' cord.
What gas connection does it need?
A 3/4" NPT connection at the rear, with a manual shut-off valve. Manifold pressure is 4" W.C. for natural gas and 11" W.C. for propane, and no external pressure regulator is required.
What is the difference between the filtration options?
Standard filtration returns the filtered oil through the wash-down hose. Royal Plus returns it through the bottom of the tank, and Royal Ultra-Plus through the bottom of the tank or the wash hose. Pick one when you order.
What does the DM control do?
It is a digital solid state thermostat.
How much clearance does it need?
6" at the rear and sides from combustible walls and 0" from non-combustible walls, plus 30" of aisle in front to remove the filter pan.
What does the warranty cover?
Royal covers RHEF fryers and fryer filter systems for 2 years parts and labor from installation (up to 30 months from manufacture). The stainless steel fry tank has a 10-year prorated warranty. Labor is covered when an authorized Royal service agency does the work.
How do I clean it?
Filter the oil at the end of each day and wash the baskets, crumb screen and filter pan. Once a week, drain the tank and run a boil-out with a non-chlorine commercial boil-out product.
