Description
A 12" low-profile radiant charbroiler for adding a grill station to a tight countertop line.
The RRB-12 is the smallest model in Royal's Royal Series RRB radiant broilers: one 15,000 BTU stainless steel tubular burner under heavy duty cast iron radiant covers and cast iron grates, on a 12" wide, 30.5" deep chassis. It suits restaurants and bars that need grill marks in a narrow slot. Order it for natural gas or propane; the pressure regulator comes with the unit.

One strong burner
A stainless steel tubular burner rated at 15,000 BTU/hr heats heavy duty cast iron radiant covers, held by an all welded fire box.
Low-profile chassis
The compact heavy gauge chassis stands 11" high overall on 4" adjustable heavy duty legs, so you can level it on a counter or a matching Royal stand.
Easy to clean
A full-width removable stainless steel crumb pan under the broiler, and an independent firebox assembly that lifts out and can be replaced.
Cooler sides
Double wall side panels, with stainless steel sides, front valve cover and ledge, and heavy duty cast iron top grates.
Delivery and setup
- Ships by freight carrier; the shipping cost depends on your location. See our shipping policy for details.
- Call (201) 467-8222 for the current lead time before you schedule installation.
- Choose natural gas or LP when you order. If your kitchen is above 2,000 feet, tell us the elevation so Royal can set the unit up for it.
- A qualified gas installer must connect the supplied regulator and a manual shut-off valve ahead of the unit, following local codes.
- Inspect the shipment before signing and note any visible damage on the freight bill.
Questions buyers ask
Does it run on natural gas or propane?
Either. Pick Natural Gas or Liquid Propane (LP) before adding it to the cart; Royal builds it for the gas you specify. Tell us your elevation if you are above 2,000 feet.
How many BTU is it?
15,000 BTU/hr from one stainless steel tubular burner (1 x 15,000 = 15,000).
What gas connection does it need?
A 3/4" NPT connection at the right rear of the unit. Manifold pressure is 5" W.C. for natural gas and 10" W.C. for propane, and the regulator ships with the unit for your installer to connect.
How much clearance does it need from the wall?
The spec sheet lists 4" at the rear and 15" at the sides from combustible walls, and 0" from non-combustible walls. Royal's manual says radiant broilers are for non-combustible locations only, so plan a non-combustible counter and wall.
Does it need an electrical outlet?
No electrical connection is listed. It lights with a standing pilot and runs on a manual valve.
What options are available?
A fish grate, a diamond grate, a removable 6" high stainless steel splash guard, and a stainless steel plate shelf with or without cutouts. Royal also makes 12" to 72" equipment stands with optional 5" swivel casters. Call us to add any of these.
What does the warranty cover?
Royal's limited warranty is 2 years on parts and 1 year on labor from installation (up to 30 months from manufacture). Cast iron parts are covered for 90 days. Labor is covered when an authorized Royal service agency does the work.
How do I clean it?
Daily, clean the grate with warm water, a mild cleaner and a wire brush, brush debris from around the burner, and empty the crumb pan. Wipe stainless steel with hot soapy water; don't use steel wool or abrasive powders.
