Questions buyers ask
Does it run on natural gas or propane?
Either. Pick Natural Gas or Liquid Propane (LP) before adding it to the cart; Royal builds it for the gas you specify. Tell us your elevation if you are above 2,000 feet.
Does it need electricity?
No. It lights with a standing pilot and runs on a gas valve only, so no outlet is needed.
Why does it have only one burner?
Royal uses one 33,000 BTU/hr round burner in the center of the plate to create the center hot spot teppanyaki cooking requires. An extra burner is available as an option.
Does it need a non-combustible counter?
Yes. Royal lists it for installation on a non-combustible counter only, with 0" clearance to non-combustible walls.
What gas connection does it need?
A 3/4" NPT connection at the right rear. Manifold pressure is 5" W.C. for natural gas and 10" W.C. for propane; the regulator ships with the unit for your installer to connect.
What options are available?
Royal lists these options: spacer frame on three sides, safety pilot control system, plate splash on three sides, 1" thick griddle plate, extra burner. Call us to add one.
What does the warranty cover?
Royal's limited warranty is 2 years on parts and 1 year on labor from installation (up to 30 months from manufacture), with labor done by an authorized Royal service agency. Cast iron parts are covered for 90 days. The warranty applies to commercial use only.
How do I clean the griddle plate?
Daily, scrub the warm plate with warm water and a fine-grit griddle brick, and empty and clean the grease can. Wipe stainless steel with hot soapy water; don't use steel wool or abrasive powders.
