A 22-inch modular head that makes up to 1,330 lb. of soft, chewable nugget ice a day and sits on a Scotsman bin for restaurants, convenience stores, healthcare and other high-volume beverage operations.
The Scotsman NS1322L-1 is a Prodigy Plus remote low side nugget ice machine head that makes Original Chewable Nugget ice, the softer of Scotsman's two nugget types. It is rated at 1,330 lb. per 24 hours at 70°F air / 50°F water and 1,100 lb. at 90°F / 70°F. Remote low side means the head is designed to run with an external condensing unit supplied by others; the refrigerant (R-404A) is added at initial start-up. The head plugs into 115V with its cord, measures 22" W x 24" D x 27" H and needs a bin below it.
Plan the bin first: the head is 22" wide and sits on top of a bin. Line up the condensing unit and a refrigeration installer before delivery.
Soft nugget ice, about 7/16" x 5/16" x 3/8", with a 74% hardness rating. Scotsman notes nugget ice is inherently more energy and water efficient than cube ice.
The front panel is self-aligning for easy access to key components, and the air filter sits at the front.

The NS models make Original Chewable Nugget ice, the softer nugget type (hardness rating 74%, about 7/16" x 5/16" x 3/8"). Scotsman's harder H2 Nugget is the NH model line.
