Description

The Traulsen TBC2H-7 is a double-depth, left-hinged roll-in blast chiller designed to chill product loaded on up to two mobile racks. Its touch-screen controller supports automatic or manually adjusted cycles, with selectable target temperatures or cycle times for organized batch production.

This model requires two remote R-407A condensing units for blast-chill operation; those condensing units are not supplied with the cabinet. It provides a self-contained maintenance refrigeration system after the chill cycle, while the remote equipment handles the high-capacity blast-chill duty. Roll-in racks are optional and must be selected separately.

Applications and Workflow

Suitable for commissaries, healthcare kitchens, large catering operations, banquet production, and other commercial kitchens that need to move high-volume batches into a blast chiller on mobile racks. The cabinet accommodates two racks loaded front to back. It is not a plug-in, all-in-one blast chiller: the installation must include two properly sized remote condensing units and associated refrigeration work.

Features and Practical Benefits

Two-rack roll-in capacity

The double-depth cabinet accommodates two roll-in racks, helping teams transfer larger production batches without unloading pans into fixed cabinet shelving.

Flexible cycle control

The touch-screen control offers automatic and manual operation, adjustable target temperatures or cycle times, and Blast Chill, Speed, Energy Saving, and Delicate settings.

Batch documentation tools

An onboard cycle-data printer and USB port support cycle record handling, while the controller stores cycle data for up to 90 days.

Remote blast-chill design

Two remote R-407A condensing units are required for blast-chill operation, allowing the refrigeration installation to be planned around the facility rather than relying on an onboard blast-chill condenser.

Durable, service-oriented cabinet

The cabinet has stainless steel inside and out, a cylinder lock, self-closing cam-lift hinges with a 120° stay-open position, and front-facing condenser coils for the maintenance system.

Installation and Purchasing Considerations

  • Plan a footprint of 48 1/2 in. W x 71 5/8 in. D x 90 3/8 in. H. The cabinet ships in two cartons and requires jobsite assembly.
  • Provide two 208-230/115V, 60 Hz, single-phase electrical feeds. Each feed requires four wires with ground, has a 16.0 A full-load rating, and requires a 20 A circuit. No plug is specified.
  • This TBC2H-7 has a left-hinged door. Allow room for the door to swing and use its 120° stay-open position during rack loading and cleaning.
  • Arrange refrigeration installation for two remote R-407A condensing units. The manufacturer lists 18,700 BTU/hr recommended chill capacity and identifies 7/8 in. suction and 1/2 in. liquid line connections.
  • Provide a floor drain for condensate removal, or specify optional condensate evaporators. Confirm remote-condensing-unit placement, piping, electrical work, drainage, and final assembly with qualified installers before delivery.
  • Roll-in racks are not standard equipment. Confirm rack dimensions and availability separately; the cabinet accepts racks up to 27 in. W x 29 in. D x 72 in. H, with wheels inboard of the frame.

Choosing This Configuration

TBC2H-7 is the left-hinged roll-in configuration. The TBC2H-8 is the right-hinged roll-in configuration.

The TBC2HR configuration is roll-through rather than this model's roll-in arrangement.

A label printer is an option identified by the “-LP” suffix; it is not established as included with the base TBC2H-7.

Remote condensing units and roll-in racks are separate items, not included cabinet components.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the TBC2H-7 include remote condensing units?

No. Blast-chill operation requires two remote R-407A condensing units. They must be planned and installed separately.

How many racks can this blast chiller hold?

It accommodates two roll-in racks loaded front to back. Racks are optional and are not supplied as standard equipment.

What electrical service does this model need?

It requires two 208-230/115V, 60 Hz, single-phase feeds. Each feed uses four wires with ground and requires a 20 A circuit; no plug is specified.

Which way does the door hinge?

The TBC2H-7 is the left-hinged roll-in version. Its door has a stay-open feature at 120°.
