Fully insulated
Insulation on the sides, front, back and bottom gives quicker preheat and faster recovery, and suits non-metal counters.
Infinite controls
An infinite control per well sets the heat level; ready lights and high limits are standard.
Wellslok mounting
Wellslok ears clamp the flange to the countertop from below for quick installation.
Delivery and setup
- Inspect the carton for damage before you sign, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.
- Have a licensed electrician hard-wire the unit to a circuit that matches the nameplate voltage and phase; Wells notes that installation must meet local electrical and plumbing codes.
- Lay out the 28-1/2" x 22-1/2" top cutout and 12-7/8" x 3-1/8" apron cutout from the Wells install sheet. If you store items under it, Wells recommends a baffle 8-1/2" below the unit.
Questions buyers ask
What pans does it hold?
Two 12" x 20" standard pans or equivalent fractional pans, one per well. Wells adapter tops take round insets.
What size cutout does it need?
Wells lists a 28-1/2" x 22-1/2" top cutout and a 12-7/8" x 3-1/8" front apron cutout for the control panel, with 6-3/4" clearance below.
What power does it need?
208/240V single phase: 1800 W and 8.7 A at 208V, 2400 W and 10.0 A at 240V total. It is hard-wired; Wells offers cords and plugs on thermostatic models only.
Can I run it dry?
Yes. Wells rates the MOD warmers for wet or dry use and recommends wet for best results.
How do I start it up for wet use?
Wells says to add about 1" of hot tap water before turning the warmer on, then preheat on the highest setting for about 30 minutes with the pan covered. Always hold food in an inset or pan, never directly in the well, and never add water to a dry, hot well.
What warranty does it have?
Wells lists a 1-year parts and labor warranty, from installation or 18 months from purchase, whichever comes first.
