A 12-gallon countertop electric kettle with the controls on the left, for sauces, gravies and soups where space is tight.
The Southbend KECT-12-L sits on a counter or stand and makes its own steam with 12 kW of removable elements, so it needs only an electrical connection. Its tilt console is on the left side, and a removable handle tilts the kettle; the "clean lock" holds it upright or at 105° for cleaning.

Steam without a boiler
The factory-sealed 2/3 jacket makes its own steam at up to 50 psi, from 165°F to 285°F.
Easy pouring
A removable handle with a heat-proof knob tilts the kettle; the clean lock holds it upright or at 105° for cleaning.
Made for acidic foods
The cooking surface is type 316 stainless steel, and the controls are water resistant.
Safety built in
A low water shut-off with light, safety valve and vacuum/pressure gauge are standard.

What electrical service does it need?
A 12 kW dedicated circuit, field wired by an electrician. Draw is 33.3 A at 208V or 28.9 A at 240V on 3 phase; 57.6 A at 208V or 50 A at 240V on 1 phase.
Will it fit in my kitchen?
It is 26.25" wide, 17.25" deep and 36.88" high. Measure every doorway on the delivery path first.
Which voltage should I order?
Southbend builds it for one electrical service: 208, 220 or 240V, 1 or 3 phase (phase is field convertible), or 380/220 and 415/240V 3 phase 4 wire. At extra cost: 380, 415, 480 or 600V, 3 phase. Tell us your service when you order, or call us to confirm.
What can I cook in it?
Soups, sauces, stews, chili, gravies and other liquid or semi-liquid foods that keep full contact with the kettle wall. The type 316 stainless liner is made for high-acid foods such as tomato sauce.
Do I need a stand?
It is a countertop kettle. Set it on a sturdy counter or order Southbend's matching floor stand with a sliding shelf or drain drawer; a counter steam kettle table (KT-) is also available.
What does the warranty cover?
Southbend's 2026 limited warranty covers parts and labor for 1 year from purchase (no more than 18 months from the factory), serviced by a Southbend Authorized Service Agency, in commercial use only.
How do I clean it?
Rinse and drain while warm, wash with a nylon brush and mild detergent, then rinse and drain again. Never use steel wool or scouring powder, and keep water away from the controls.
