V Series, Endurance or SX: which Vulcan range?
- V Series heavy-duty: 35,000 BTU/hr burners, built for continuous high-volume use and fully customizable as modules on a countertop, cabinet or oven base.
- Endurance: Vulcan's top-selling range, 30,000 BTU/hr burners, 24" to 72", with griddle or charbroiler tops and oven or refrigerated bases.

Choosing a Vulcan fryer
- PowerFry3 TR and PowerFry5 VK: high-output gas fryers in 50, 70 and 90 lb classes, single or in batteries of up to four, with analog, digital or computer controls.
- QuickFry VHG: built for high volume and easy filtration, according to Vulcan.
- GR, LG and VEG: millivolt gas fryers for tighter budgets; their fry tank terms differ (see the warranty table).
- Electric: ER floor fryers (50 and 85 lb), CEF countertop fryers and the JEF50-ES.

Vulcan ENERGY STAR equipment
ENERGY STAR's certified lists include 36 Vulcan fryer listings (TR, VK, VHG, VEG, ER, CEF40), 14 oven listings (VC4, SG4, ECO2D, JGC100-ES, Chef'sCombi and TCM combis), 12 steamer listings (C24EO, C24EA-LWE, C24ET-LWE), 5 VCCG griddles and 9 VBP holding cabinets. A listing covers an exact model, so check it before you claim a utility rebate; Vulcan says rebates range from $50 to $7,000.

Is Vulcan a good brand?
Strengths: one maker for the whole hot line, a wide ENERGY STAR lineup, service through Hobart Service, and long terms on some parts (10 years on holding cabinet elements, up to 10 years on fry tanks). Trade-offs: the standard term is one year, wear items carry 90 days, steamer coverage depends on water treatment records, and travel beyond 50 miles is the owner's cost. Send us two or three models, from Vulcan or brands such as Southbend, and we will compare them side by side.

Vulcan FAQ
What warranty does Vulcan equipment have?
Vulcan's Limited Original Commercial Equipment Warranty (form F45416, August 2026) covers defects for 1 year from original installation, labor included. Seals, bulbs and gaskets carry 90 days, holding cabinet elements 10 years, chef base compressors 7 years, and fry tanks up to 10 years depending on the series. Installation must happen within 18 months of manufacture.
How do I register a Vulcan warranty or get service?
Register new equipment with the Equipment Warranty Registration form on Vulcan's website, or call Vulcan customer service toll free at 800-814-2028, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern. Repairs go through Hobart Service or a Certified Independent Service agency. If you bought from Atlantic, call 201-467-8222 for your invoice.
What is the difference between Vulcan V Series, Endurance and SX ranges?
They are Vulcan's three duty levels. V Series heavy-duty ranges have 35,000 BTU/hr burners and modular sections for continuous use. Endurance ranges, Vulcan's top seller, have 30,000 BTU/hr burners and many top and base choices. SX Core Series ranges have 28,000 BTU/hr burners and the lowest price, for light to moderate use.
Can I use a Vulcan range at home?
Vulcan's warranty says it does not recommend or authorize its products for non-commercial use, including residential use, and that such use voids all warranties. Commercial ranges also need commercial gas pressure, clearances and ventilation, so check local code and insurance first and expect no factory warranty.
How long is the warranty on a Vulcan fryer tank?
It depends on the series. On TR, VK, VHG QuickFry, GR, ER and CEF fryers, a leaking tank is replaced in the first two years and the tank part price is covered up to year 10. VFRY tanks: two years, then the part to year 5. LG and VEG fryers are replaced in year one, then the owner shares the tank cost until year 5.
Who makes Vulcan and where is it made?
Vulcan is a division of ITW Food Equipment Group LLC, part of Illinois Tool Works, and a sister brand of Hobart. Vulcan lists plants in Baltimore, Maryland (ovens, ranges, heated holding, broilers), Charlotte, North Carolina (fryers, griddles, charbroilers) and Troy, Ohio (steam and combi). Its history goes back to an 1865 foundry in Louisville, Kentucky.
