Imperial Pro Series vs Spec Series
Imperial sorts its line into three tiers. Pick by how many hours a day the line runs and how hard it is used:
- Spec Series (IHR): Imperial's most heavy-duty line, built from 14-gauge stainless steel for high-volume kitchens, chains, hotels, fine dining and institutions. Open burners are rated 40,000 BTU/hr, and 36" sections come with burners, hot tops, French tops, griddles, plancha or charbroiler tops, plus 12" to 24" add-a-units.
- Pro Series (IR, PSB, PSG, PSH, PRV): 16-gauge stainless steel for larger full-service restaurants. IR range burners are 32,000 BTU/hr PyroCentric burners with a 7,000 BTU/hr low simmer; griddle plates are 3/4" thick (1" on 72" ranges).
- Elements Series: Imperial's entry line for cost-conscious operators and startups. We do not list Elements models on this page today; ask us for a quote.

How to choose an Imperial range
- Width: measure the space under the hood. IR ranges come 24", 36", 48", 60" and 72" wide; IHR sections are 36" with 12" to 24" add-a-units.
- Top: count the pots you run at once, then decide how much griddle or broiler you want instead of burners.
- Base: a standard oven, a convection oven (C) for even baking, a provection oven (P), or an open cabinet base (XB) if you bake elsewhere.
- Fuel: natural gas and propane are separate models; electric models need the right voltage and phase.
- Finish the line: add a backguard or high shelf, a spreader cabinet and casters if you need them.
Imperial and ENERGY STAR
As of October 27, 2026, the ENERGY STAR commercial ovens dataset lists four Imperial convection ovens: PCVG-1 and PCVG-2 (gas) and PCV-1 and PCV-2, certified July 10, 2023. We sell the PCVG-1 and PCVG-2 in natural gas and propane. The ENERGY STAR griddle dataset lists Imperial ITG electric griddles (ITG-36-E to ITG-72-E). No Imperial fryers were listed in the ENERGY STAR fryer dataset on that date. Check the model number before you apply for a utility rebate.

Is Imperial a good brand?
Imperial has made commercial cooking equipment since 1957, and its range line is broad: two duty levels, gas and electric, many top and base layouts, and matching griddles, broilers, fryers and stands. It also covers niches many brands skip, such as Chinese wok ranges, mesquite wood broilers and steakhouse broilers.
The trade-offs: the standard warranty is one year, cast iron and glass parts get 90 days, and labor needs an authorized Imperial agency. Pick the Spec Series if the line runs all day, and register a startup so the warranty clock and the setup are documented.
Imperial vs other range brands
Buyers usually compare Imperial with other American range makers on the same points. Compare the burner rating (BTU per burner), the steel gauge, the oven type, how parts and service are handled near you, and the warranty term by model. Imperial's published terms are one year parts and labor, with a five-year pro-rated fry tank on fryers. For a side-by-side quote on two brands for the same line, call 201-467-8222.

Imperial FAQ
What warranty does Imperial equipment have?
According to Imperial's limited warranty terms, equipment carries one year of parts and labor from the date of original installation, provided it is no older than two years from manufacture. Fryer and pasta cooker stainless fry tanks are covered for five years, pro-rated. Faucets, cast iron parts and glass items get 90 days, and porcelain items are excluded.
What is the Imperial service phone number?
Imperial lists (833) 238-8169 for service and 800-343-7790 for sales. The head office is at 1128 Sherborn St., Corona, California, phone 951-281-1830. Have your model, serial number and installation date ready. If you bought from Atlantic, call us at 201-467-8222 for your invoice.
Who makes Imperial ranges and where are they made?
Imperial Commercial Cooking Equipment, founded in Los Angeles in 1957 by Peter Spenuzza Sr., makes them. The company is based in Corona, California, describes its equipment as USA-made, and is now part of Middleby Corporation's family of foodservice brands. According to Imperial, it began by building broilers and griddles for Los Angeles steak houses.
What is the difference between Imperial Pro Series and Spec Series?
Spec Series (IHR) is Imperial's heaviest line, built from 14-gauge stainless steel with 40,000 BTU/hr open burners for high-volume kitchens, hotels and institutions. Pro Series (IR) uses 16-gauge stainless steel and 32,000 BTU/hr PyroCentric burners, and suits larger full-service restaurants. Both come in many top and base layouts.
Do Imperial ranges come in propane?
Yes. Imperial gas equipment is built for natural gas or liquid propane, and we list them as separate models ending in NG or LP. Order the one that matches your gas supply. If your supply may change, ask us before you order so we can check the conversion options for that model.
What does IR-6-C mean on an Imperial range?
IR is the Pro Series restaurant range, 6 is six open burners and C is a convection oven. No letter means a standard oven, CC two convection ovens, P a provection oven and XB an open cabinet base. A G with a number, such as G24, adds a griddle of that width.
Are Imperial convection ovens ENERGY STAR certified?
The Imperial PCVG-1 and PCVG-2 gas convection ovens appear in the ENERGY STAR commercial ovens dataset (certified July 10, 2023, checked October 27, 2026). Other Imperial ovens we sell were not on that list. Check the exact model number before you apply for a utility rebate.
Which Imperial fryer should I buy?
Start with oil capacity: Imperial floor fryers hold 25, 40, 50 or 75 lb. of oil, and 2525 models split into two 25 lb. tanks for two products at once. IRF fryers are range-match models with tube-fired stainless fry pots, and OP models have an open fry pot. Imperial covers stainless fry tanks for five years, pro-rated.
Does Atlantic offer free shipping on Imperial?
