How to read a Moffat Turbofan model number
E32D5E = electric (G = gas) · 32 = oven series · D = digital controls (M = manual, T = touch screen) · 5 = sheet pans
| Code | What it means |
|---|---|
| E22, E23, E31, E33 | Half-size ovens for half sheet pans (E33 adds moisture injection; E31D4 adds a broil element) |
| E27, E28, E32, E35, G32 | Full-size ovens for full sheet pans; E35 takes 6 pans in a 35.88" wide cabinet |
| -2, /2, -2C | Two ovens double stacked; C = on casters |
| P8M, P10M, P12M, P85M8 | Proofer and holding cabinet; the number after P gives the pan count (P85 is the wider cabinet that matches E35 ovens); M = mechanical thermostat |
| H10D-FS, H8T-UC | Heated holding cabinet; 8 or 10 pans; D = digital, T = touch screen; FS = full-size (no FS = half-size); UC = undercounter height |
| VH32 | Ventless condensing hood for the matching oven series (VH32 for E32D and E32T) |
| SK32, SK2731U | Stainless steel stand on casters for the named oven series |
| DSKE33, DSKE33C, DSKE33P10 | Double stacking kit for two E33 ovens; C = casters; P10 = kit for an E33 oven on a P10M cabinet |
| M + 6 digits | Moffat part number (racks, probe kit, filter cartridge) |
Read from Moffat US spec sheets and our product titles. Older spec sheets use earlier kit names (for example DSK33 for DSKE33); order by the model in our title.
Who makes Moffat Turbofan ovens, and where?
Turbofan is the convection oven line of Moffat, a commercial kitchen equipment maker whose story, according to Moffat, dates back to the 1920s in Australia and New Zealand. Moffat is an Ali Group company.
Moffat's US spec sheets state that Turbofan products are designed and manufactured by Moffat Limited in Rolleston, New Zealand, under an ISO 9001 quality system. Moffat says it built the Rolleston plant, 22 km southwest of Christchurch, after the 2011 earthquakes. Moffat products have been sold in the US and Canada since the mid-1980s; the US office is in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and focuses on convection ovens and proofer and holding cabinets. The VH series ventless hoods are made for Turbofan by Halton.

ENERGY STAR, ETL, NSF and UL listings
On October 28, 2026 the ENERGY STAR commercial ovens dataset listed 6 convection ovens from Moffat Limited. Five of them are models we sell: the E22M3, E23M3 and E23D3 half-size ovens, the E32D5 full-size oven and the E33T5 half-size touch screen oven.
- Ovens and cabinets: the spec sheets state ETL listing and NSF-4 listing.
- Stands: NSF-4 listed stainless steel.
- VH ventless hoods: UL listed and UL EPH classified, for the electric ovens they are made for. Local code still decides whether a hood can be left out, so check with your inspector before you plan without one.

Which Turbofan oven should you buy?
- Half-size or full-size: half-size ovens (E22, E23, E31, E33) take 12" x 20" or half sheet pans and fit on a counter. Full-size ovens (E27, E28, E32, E35, G32) take 18" x 26" sheet pans for bakery and larger batches.
- Power: only the E22M3 plugs into a standard 120V outlet. The other electric ovens need 208V or 240V, single phase; check the amperage on the product page against your panel. The G32D5 runs on natural gas or LP and still needs power for the fan and controls.
- Controls: manual (M) models have a dial thermostat and timer. Digital (D) models add separate time and temperature displays and stored programs (20 on the E32D5). Touch screen (T) models use an icon menu and load programs by USB.
- Moisture: the E32, E33, E35 and G32 series offer moisture injection for bread, roasts and reheating; they need a cold water connection.
- Stacking: two ovens stack with a DSK kit, and an oven can sit on a matching P series proofer. That gives a complete bake-off station on one footprint.
Proofer cabinet or holding cabinet?
A P series cabinet does both jobs: it proofs dough with humidity from its water tank and holds cooked food warm, set by a mechanical thermostat (65-185°F on the P8M sheet). An H series cabinet only holds hot food, with electronic control from 68 to 194°F and hold timers, so it suits finished food between the oven and the counter. Pick half-size cabinets for 12" x 20" pans and full-size for sheet pans; the UC versions fit under a counter.
Is Moffat Turbofan a good brand?
Turbofan ovens are compact, built around a porcelain enamel cavity that is easy to clean, and five of the models we sell were on the ENERGY STAR list on our check date. The range fits together: stands, stacking kits, proofers and ventless hoods are made to match each oven series, so you can build a bake-off station from one brand.
The trade-offs: the warranty is 1 year from installation (or 18 months from shipment), shorter than some US oven makers offer on their premium lines; most electric models need 208/240V wiring; and the products are made in New Zealand, so confirm parts and service coverage in your area before you order.
Moffat Turbofan vs Blodgett and other convection ovens
Buyers most often compare Turbofan with Blodgett convection ovens. Compare pan capacity and pan size, the power the oven needs (120V, 208/240V single phase or gas), moisture injection, stacking options and the warranty terms of each line. We carry Blodgett and other oven brands too, so a specialist can price two ovens side by side.

Moffat FAQ
What warranty does a Moffat Turbofan oven have?
According to Moffat's US warranty, new Moffat equipment is covered against defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from installation or 18 months from shipment by Moffat, whichever comes first. It applies to commercial use in the United States. Replacement parts carry 90 days from invoice. Bulbs, seals, calibration and damage from water conditions are not covered.

Who makes Turbofan ovens and where are they made?
Turbofan is made by Moffat, an Ali Group company. Moffat's US spec sheets state that Turbofan products are designed and manufactured by Moffat Limited in Rolleston, New Zealand, under an ISO 9001 quality system. Moffat's US office is in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Moffat products have been sold in the US since the mid-1980s.
Does the Moffat Turbofan E32D5 plug into a regular outlet?
No. According to its spec sheet, the E32D5 is a 208V or 220-240V single-phase oven, 5.8 kW at 208V and 6.5 kW at 240V, and no cord set is supplied, so an electrician connects it. Of the Turbofan ovens we list, only the half-size E22M3 plugs into a standard 120V outlet. P series proofers and half-size H cabinets also run on 120V.
Can I stack two Turbofan ovens or put an oven on a proofer?
Yes. Moffat sells DSK double stacking kits for two ovens of the same series, on adjustable feet or on casters (C models). Oven-on-proofer kits such as DSKE33P10 or DSKE35P85 put an oven on a matching P series proofer and holding cabinet. Pick the kit named for both of your models, or send us the models and we will confirm.
Are Moffat Turbofan ovens ventless?
The ovens themselves are not sold as ventless, but Moffat offers VH series ventless condensing hoods for the E31D, E32, E33 and E35 electric ovens. The hoods are made by Halton, have 3-stage filtration and are UL listed and UL EPH classified. Your local inspector has the final say, so confirm before you leave a kitchen hood out of the plan.
What is the difference between a Turbofan proofer and a holding cabinet?
P series cabinets proof dough with humidity from a water tank and also hold cooked food, using a mechanical thermostat. H series cabinets only hold hot food, with electronic control from 68 to 194°F and hold timers. Both come half-size or full-size, and the UC versions fit under a counter.
Does Atlantic offer free shipping on Moffat?
Yes. Every Moffat model we list ships free to the contiguous United States, is marked for quick shipping (next business day) and carries our Best Price Guarantee. Call 201-467-8222 to confirm stock on a specific configuration or to get a project quote.
